Dividers Travis Adams Irish Tierney Roberts Books

Vastly intrigued by the author's very candid biography, I skimmed the synopsis for this book and thought it was worth a read. I did not think it would be my type of book in the first few pages, but somewhere around Chapter Two and 5%, I got totally sucked in and found myself flipping pages eagerly to learn what happens next.

I liked Jacob more than I expected to, and I cared a great deal about his fate. There were moments where I was staring at the pages in utter shock at his cruelty, and then, somehow, I liked him again. This author has a magical touch and I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this unique, stylish, and masterfully executed story.

The way he writes about interpersonal relationships between family members, and between males and females is so imaginative and precise. I can visualize every scene so clearly, and it certainly keeps me guessing. Reading this story was a real treat, and I felt completely gripped. I felt like I was stuck inside a disturbing movie and terrified of what was going to happen next, but unable to stop watching.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a surprising and gut-wrenching read. There are some formatting issues in the kindle edition I read, but the story is so great that you should be able to overlook it easily.

Dividers Travis Adams Irish Tierney Roberts Books Reviews

"Just as in a game of chess, the fingers are the pawns; the arms and legs are the rooks and knights. The heart and lungs are the queen and bishops, and the throat is the king."

This book kept my attention from the articulate wording in the beginning to the rolling suspense throughout the entire book. I was pleasantly surprised to be so engaged and strongly felt part of the action, which is a great tribute to the author.

The unleashing of violence in this book is so intertwined in the roots of the story that I found myself conflicted on who I was rooting for and even after putting it down, I'm left wondering what will happen next.. Great story.
Dividers is a brilliantly written book that captives your mind and send you on a journey you would wish you could continue with characters that are out of the box conventional. The story is ultimately about one family and the dysfunctional relationships that never ceases to draw you in. You wont always like your hero, if you can call him that but you will love this book. Its for every true admirer of good writing. I don't want to spoil the fun for all you readers out there so I won't go into it, but if you want a good read that has you salivating for more consider yourself hitting the jackpot, read it! Its that good!
Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely; and, money is the source of power. When the quest for more and more wealth is added to the mix, along with the insatiable desire for revenge, and a malevolent spirit that has been searching for redemption for 6,000 years is added to the mix, you have a tale that is mesmerizing.
Dividers by Travis Adams Irish is the story of Jacob Calbraw, the wealthy and spoiled son of billionaire Earl Calbraw, and his quest to discover who was responsible for the death of his mother. He has been locked for decades in a struggle with his father who is trying to make amends for his misdeeds of the past, and he finds himself possessed by Thretch, a spirit who has suffered untold deaths as he struggles to redeem himself for a failure when he was a mortal.
This is a story of personal jealousy, greed, and class warfare, as the reader follows Jacob, who struggles to break free from Thretch’s hold. Jacob’s life crosses paths with Kelvin Carver, a Harlem resident whose son dies because the rich and powerful can’t be bothered with a common man’s problems, so they stand idly by while the child dies from anaphylactic shock, causing Kelvin to seek justice through revenge.
Jacob and Kelvin are the central characters in this chilling tale, and with each near encounter, you’ll find yourself on edge waiting to see what will happen when they finally meet. Their explosive encounter will make your blood run cold. Adams has created a future world that is a chilling foreshadowing of what can happen when wealth determines the fate, not just of nations, but those who value wealth above people.
Having just finished the pre-release version o Dividers By Travis Adams Irish I can say there is great potential for this book. The plot is unique, and unfolds at a fairly nice pace. The story of a feud between father and son is classic and many great lessons can be learned. As I read into Earls character I can see he is a soul in torment over a past he's not exactly proud of, while also not wanting to reveal the past to his anger fulled son looking for truth, trying to make sense of events that lead to the disappearance of his mother.
The underlying tale of extremely wealthy men, with all the bounties of the earth at their feet, abusing it, raping it, destroying lives casually, with no care for who they hurt pulls at the readers common senses. If only these people who had such great power would not use it so ruthlessly as to destroy anything in their way. The story of a wealthy house divided, and the darker, scarier demon that is released because of the malice and hatred, is a cautionary one. Who knows what demons we release when we ruthlessly attack each other?

Good story, good premise, potential to be a wonderful book. Though I love character development and descriptions of a scene I sometimes felt that there were too many adjectives, too much description. I like a story that paints an overall picture as a structure but allows my mind to fill it in, imagine it, engage with it in my own way. To me that is the mark of a truly great novel, one that lets their reader savior the setting and characters in a marinade of their own imaginations.
