Although I don't normally consider myself a book reading kind of person, I found myself drawn to picking this one up over and over. There's just enough drama and suspense to keep you coming back. And it's not just the typical vampire story, it's more about a story that most people could connect with because there is so much reviled about each character and there are very visual images painted within each scene.I felt the plot of the story was very thought out and deep and had some unexpected twists with the background and the way vampire-ism is transmitted. The chapters were broken down in small logical sections which made it an easy read while on the subway, etc.
The only negative comments were that there were some grammatical errors due to editing. Overall, the story flows really well and I definitely will be purchasing the followups to this series. I could easily see this story being turned into a movie.

The story is full of energy, drama, romance, comedy, and action!! Eric did an AMAZING job!!! can't wait for the next one to come out!!!
First Vampire saga I have ever read. Was skepitcal at first but when I started it I couldn't hardly put it down. there is plenty of drama, comedy and of course a little romance not to much just enough. It is a great read and I highly recommend it.
This book was awesomely written. I had never been much into vampires until I read this book. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout and you were never at a loss of what was going on. The climax of the town battle and the end left me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next.
All I can say is well done. Great story, and very unique compared to the other vampire novels I have been reading.
Wow, I loved this book. I first heard of it on facebook and I am a fanatic about vampire books, so I looked it up! I sometimes worry because I have read so many and they eventually start to all sound the same, but this one had a new kick to it that has me wanting more!
